How to Use the Keyword Explorer

In this article, seobase explains how to use our Keyword Explorer tool to find your business's most relevant and profitable keywords.

The Project Dashboard of seobase aims to provide users with an all-in-one solution by integrating all existing tools. Users can conduct effective SEO keyword research with the Keyword Explorer tool from seobase available in the Project Dashboard. Alternatively, users can follow the steps outlined below to perform keyword research:

  1. Open this URL (https://seobase.com/).

  2. Go to the Keyword Explorer page (https://seobase.com/keyword-explorer/ ) or just simply tap on the "Sign In" button on the home page if you already have an account, then pick the "Keyword Explorer" option in the main dashboard of the app.

  3. Enter a keyword in the Search by Keyword tab or domain in the Search by Domain tab, and select your country and language.

  4. Click on the "Explore" button or hit the "Enter" button on your keyboard to see the results of the keywords analysis. It might take up to 5 minutes to see the overview page results.

  5. The "Overview Page" will be opened automatically when the report is done.

  6. Select the analysis preference from the drop-down list and the "subdomains" checkbox on the overview page.

Overview of Keyword Explorer Results

The Keyword Explorer results overview page will display the keyword analysis results for the specific keyword. You will see the following information:

  • List of keywords related to the main keyword you've chosen to perform keyword research for.

  • Volume Trend shows search trend for the specific keyword for the past 12 months.

  • Average search volume shows the monthly average search volume for the past 12 months.

  • Cost per click (CPC) is the average cost per click that advertisers pay in Google Ads results.

  • Pay per click (PPC) is an estimated value of competition in paid search. The higher the value is, the more competitive the keyword is.

  • Keyword Difficulty (KD) is an estimated value of competition in organic search results in Google. The higher the value is, the more difficult it is to rank for this keyword in SERP.

Showing Different Search Results

To see more keyword results based on different search intent, you can switch between Related Keywords, Ideas, and Suggestions that will show various related keyword phrases:

  • Related keywords are the keyword ideas related to the main keywords sorted by their relevance.

  • Ideas are the search queries relevant to your keyword's product or service categories.

  • Suggestions are search queries that contain your keyword.

Export Your Keywords

If you want to export your keyword(s) to a CSV file, simply check the keywords of your choice or click on a checkbox next to the All Keywords column and tap on the Export CSV button at the bottom of the screen. This will download the file with selected keywords.

Add Keywords to the List

If you would like to add another keyword(s) to the keywords list for further usage, simply select desired keywords and press the button Add to List.

Once you tap on the Add to List button, a new pop-up will appear where you can either add your selected keywords to an existing list or create a new one.

Displaying Keyword Difficulty

The Keyword Difficulty section shows you in detail how difficult it is to rank for a specific keyword in organic Google SERP results. Also, it shows you a detailed score breakdown to better understand our scales.

Search Volume and Trends

The Search Volume feature of Keyword Explorer shows you the average monthly searches for a selected keyword for the past 12 months. The Trends tab shows the relative popularity of the keywords according to Google Trends data for the past 12 months.

SERP Checker and SERP Analysis

In the SERP Checker feature of the Keyword Explorer tool, you can see the top Google SERP results for a selected keyword. Those results will be refreshed to reflect the latest data if you press the Refresh button. Press Load more results if you want to see more SERP results for the selected keyword.

Displaying History Items

If you click on the clock icon next to the explore button, it will open up a slideout window with all the History items of your keyword research.

Select a specific item in the list you wish to view the history of keyword research for. If you press the Clear History button, it will erase all of your past data, so use it sparingly.
